Entrepreneurs Mike Kathrani and Tina Vora have brought on chef Bhavin Chhatwani to achieve their goal of creating “North Carolina’s most elevated Indian restaurant” in Raleigh. Tamasha Modern Indian (4200 Six Forks Road) will open in North Hills this winter.
“Our goal is for Tamasha to be the pinnacle of excellence within the Indian dining scene, setting high standards for culinary artistry, polished service, and an inviting atmosphere,” says Vora, “We’re so proud of Indian cuisine, and its vast traditions and flavors, and can’t wait to celebrate it in all its beauty in a sophisticated and fine dining setting.”
With Vora’s background in interior and fashion design, one can assume that the space will be a sight to behold, though not many specifics have been released about the food, other than a previous announcement that it will be “Indian cuisine where culinary art meets the alchemy of modern presentations and cooking techniques like molecular gastronomy to absorb the guest into the ultimate gastronomic illusion.”
Chhatwani comes to the project with a background in several highly lauded Indian restaurants across the United States and in India. He worked at San Francisco’s Taj Campton Place, Chicago’s Rooh, and Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India.
